The Coeur d'Alene Youth Orchestra is committed to providing a quality orchestral experience for the youth of the Inland Empire and to increase opportunities for musical arts expression and education for its members.

Winter Fundraiser/Pops Concert - Date and venue changed!

The winter concert has been changed to Friday, January 29th and will be held at the Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy at 7pm.

Selections from all three ensembles will include music from radio, film and tv shows, along with some other popular favorites. Themed baskets will be available for silent auction and dessert will be part of the evening's fare! Tickets are available to purchase from students or at the door and are $10 each.

Students are currently in the process of getting donations for silent auction baskets. Please contact board vice-president Mary McKinney with questions. Basket items are due by Monday, January 25th.

Announcing the formation of the Intermediate String Orchestra

The CDAYO has expanded to include a group designed primarily for the 2nd and 3rd year string player. The Intermediate String Orchestra focuses mainly on building upon beginning techniques learned in the first year, and teaching how to play independent parts within a larger orchestra. Techniques learned within this ensemble will prepare students for inclusion into the CJO, and playing in a full orchestra with confidence!

We are pleased to welcome conductor Chad Hocutt, who is leading this new ensemble!

Auditioning for the 2009-2010 Season

We have conducted our Fall Auditions, but still have openings in several sections. If you are interested in auditioning, please click here for audition information.

ANYONE interested in auditioning needs to contact Kristina Phillips in order to schedule an audition time.

2009-2010 Rehearsals at Coeur d'Alene High School

The CISO rehearses in the choir room from 5:00 - 6:00pm.
The CJO rehearses in the choir room from 6:30 - 8:30pm.
The CYO rehearses in the band room from 6:30 - 8:30pm.

We have a few extra shirts available from our last order. If you'd like a shirt and didn't get one before (or would like another one!), please contact board member Angela Geddes.
